Waikiki drowning victim identified as Washington resident

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified a woman who died Monday night after being pulled from waters off the Outrigger Canoe Club in Waikiki as Herma Amalia, 29, of Pullman, Wash.

She died of accidental drowning, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Paramedics responded at 6:40 p.m. Monday and found her in extremely critical condition. She was taken to the hospital where she died at about 8 p.m.
