    7. The monthly food truck rally Eat the Street is another source of dining options.

The monthly Eat the Street food truck event will mark its last appearance at 555 South St. on Friday.

Organizers announced Tuesday that impending construction of the Keauhou Place development in the parking lot where Eat the Street has taken place for some five years, is causing the move.

After Friday’s Eat the Street: Japan from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the usual spot, the event will be staged at Kakaako Gateway Park at 677 Ala Moana Blvd. beginning April 24. Eat the Street in Kakaako typically happens the last Friday of each month.

“Over the years, we’ve built a loyal following,” and wanted to limit the move’s impact on vendors and attendees, said Poni Askew, owner and CEO of event company Street Grindz LLC, in a statement.

“Kakaako Gateway Park provides the same amenities such as free parking and an open-air space for us to continue to produce a quality event each month,” Askew said.
