Rescue crews aid hikers on Maunawili Falls trail
Honolulu fire rescue personnel are escorting a group of lost hikers off the Maunawili Falls trail.
The hikers called for help shortly before 7 p.m.
Firefighters located the party but were unable to deploy the department’s Air 1 helicopter to pick them up due to cloud cover.
Instead, the firefighters hiked in to meet the hikers and will walk them back to the trailhead.
It has not been determined how many hikers are involved or if any are injured.
