Man in serious condition after near drowning in Waikiki

Honolulu firefighters and paramedics responded to a report of a near drowning in waters off the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel in Waikiki Tuesday morning.

A 39-year-old man, visiting from Chicago was brought to shore unconscious near the Hau Tree Bar at about 10:14 a.m. officials said.

Paramedics and firefighters treated the man. 

An Emergency Medical Services report said the man was conscious when paramedics took him to the hospital in serious condition.
