This satellite picture taken Saturday afternoon shows clouds over Kauai, Maui and the windward coast of Oahu. Another band of clouds was bringing rain to the Big Island.

An increased chance of showers is expected over the islands through Monday as tradewinds blow clouds with “slightly enhanced moisture” over the state.

Most of the showers will stay in the usual windward and mauka areas. However, some rain may blow over the mountains to leeward areas.

Windward and mauka areas will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the mornings and evenings. Leeward areas should be clear with isolated showers.

The forecast for Honolulu and south shores of Oahu calls for a 50 percent chance of rain through Monday with partly to mostly sunny skies during the day and partly cloudy skies at night with east to northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph Sunday and 15 to 20 mph on Monday. Lows should be between 64 and 83 degrees and highs are likely to be about 78 to 84 degrees.
