Ward Avenue reopened after vehicle knocks down utility pole

Hawaiian Electric Co. crews cleared a utility pole that had been knocked down in a motor vehicle accident on Ward Avenue Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. near the Sky Tower apartments.

A Hawaiian Electric Co. spokeswoman said that while the pole was knocked down, no utility wires were cut and no customers were without power.

Police closed Ward Avenue between Spencer and Prospect Streets until about 3:30 p.m., when crews cleared the scene.
