    Running back Joey Iosefa.

Former University of Hawaii running back Joey Iosefa was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round and 231st overall.

Iosefa was told he would be as a running back, fullback, H-back and, even, tight end.

Iosefa, who was raised in American Samoa, said playing football at the next level was a lifelong dream.

“It’s a blessing, not just for myself, but for the people of American Samoa, my culture and everything,” Iosefa said. “It’s really big to put my island on the map. I’m also representing the people here in Hawaii. It’s a blessing.”

Also Saturday, former UH center Kody Afusia signed a free-agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
