The Medical Examiner's Office identified the 27-year-old Honolulu man whose body was recovered Friday off Yokohama Bay.

An autopsy will be performed to determine what caused the death of a 27-year-old Honolulu man, whose body was recovered Friday off Keawaula Beach, also known as Yokohama Bay, in the Kaena Point State Park.

The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Hoang Nguyen.

Nguyen was with two friends when all three got into trouble just before 2 p.m., Emergency Medical Services reported.

Lifeguards responded and rescued two men in their 20s. They suffered minor cuts, but refused treatment.

Nguyen was taken to the Waianae Boat Harbor where he was pronounced dead.
