Hawaiian Airlines passenger traffic up 4 percent in April

Hawaiian Airlines’ passenger traffic rose 4 percent in April from the year-earlier period as the company added more capacity. 

The state’s largest carrier said Wednesday it transported 816,688 people compared with 785,254 in the year-earlier period. Its load factor, or the percentage of seats filled, edged up 1.1 percentage points to 77.5 percent from 76.4 percent.

Revenue passenger miles, or one paying passenger transported one mile, rose 6.3 percent to 1.09 million from 1.02 million. Available seat miles, or one seat transported one mile, increased 4.8 percent to 1.40 million from 1.34 million.
