Prosecutors charged a 33-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his roommate at their home in Ewa Beach.

Police initially arrested Michael Howard early Sunday morning on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder following a fight with a 52-year-old man at their shared residence on Komana Street.

Police said an argument between the two men escalated when the suspect attacked the victim with a dangerous instrument.

But prosecutors charged Howard on Monday with second degree assault.
