Suspect in Oneula park shooting charged with attempted murder

A 67-year-old man was charged Wednesday night in the shooting of a 52-year-old man at Oneula Beach Park in Ewa Beach.

Prosecutors charged Richard Gallarde, who has no local address, with second-degree attempted murder and a weapons offense.

His bail was set at $250,000.

Police arrested Gallarde at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday in Wai­anae for investigation of second-degree attempted murder. Police said he shot the victim.

Paramedics took the victim to the hospital in serious condition, Emergency Medical Services reported.
