At $1,554 a night, the Montage Kapalua Bay on Maui is the fifth-most expensive hotel in the world, according to a new survey.

Amangiri, in Canyon Point, Utah, costs $1,889 a night and is the most expensive hotel in the world, according to the survey released Wednesday by Luxury-Hotels.com, part of online travel company Expedia.

Between Amangiri and the Montage Kapalua Bay, are hotels in destinations around the world including second-ranked Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia, Italy, ranked second at  $1,789 a night; No. 3, Explora Rapa Nui in Easter Island, Chile, at $1,733, and fourth-ranked Cap Estel in Cote d’Azur, France, at $1,679 a night. The magazine ranks 20 resorts around the globe.

Meanwhile, the website’s 2014 list of the 20 most expensive hotels in the U.S. did not include any in Hawaii.

The site’s rankings list rates that are based on the average price for a standard double room for the summer, from June through August.

On the Luxury-Hotels website, Hawaii is not listed among the top destinations in the U.S. and Canada, which include Atlanta; New York; Los Angeles; San Diego; Toronto; Boston; San Francisco and Las Vegas.
