An 81-year-old Nanakuli man is charged with abuse in an attack on his roommate early Wednesday morning.
George Makuaole was scheduled to appear in Family Court Thursday on the misdemeanor charge.
Officers initially arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday at his home on Laiku Street, after the alleged attack on a sleeping roommate, a 46-year-old man.
But prosecutors charged him with misdemeanor abuse. Bail was set at $1,000.
