Oahu Community Correctional Center inmate Daniel Seyler is back behind bars after being on the loose for several hours.

Police arrested Seyler at 5:10 p.m. in the Pearl City area. He left the Laumaka Work Furlough Center at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday to go to work, but didn’t return as scheduled at 10:30 p.m.

Seyler is serving time for  second-degree assault and failing to update his status on the sexual offender registration to reflect his assault conviction.

His next parole hearing is scheduled for September.

He could be charged with escape, which could add time to his sentence.
