A 62-year-old Kapaa man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Waimea on Saturday afternoon.

According to Kauai police, the man was traveling on a motorcycle down Waimea Canyon Drive, near mile marker six, and crashed while attempting to make a turn.

The man was transported to Wilcox Memorial Hospital.

Police closed Waimea Canyon Drive in both direction from just below the Kokee Road junction to the Kuhio Highway junction for about three hours while an investigation was conducted.
