Medical examiner identifies victims in 3 weekend incidents

The medical examiner released the identities of three people who died in separate incidents over the weekend.

The cause of death in all of the cases is pending further tests.

Kalani Badayos, 51, of Waianae, collapsed while waiting at a Kalihi bus stop Friday afternoon and was taken to a Moanalua area hospital where his condition deteriorated and he died, police said.

A witness notified paramedics at 1:52 p.m. and the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:40 p.m., police said. 

There were no signs of foul play, police said.

Shuju Hirokawa, 62, of Toyama Prefecture in Japan, was a  passenger Friday flying into Honolulu from Japan when he became unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Kenneth Cherry, 27, of Honolulu, was scuba diving when he ran into trouble around 10 a.m. at Sharks Cove Sunday.

Bystanders pulled Cherry out of the water and performed CPR. Paramedics took him to the hospital in critical condition where he died.
