Police, sheriffs seek missing work furlough inmate

Honolulu police and state deputy sheriffs are looking for a work furlough inmate who failed to return from a day pass on Saturday.

Robert Balanza, 50, left the Laumaka Work Furlough Center Saturday morning and failed to return by 4 p.m. as scheduled.

Balanza, who was serving time for various drug charges, is described as 5 feet 6 inches and 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Balanza whereabouts is asked to call 911.
