Police investigate theft of 47 fence posts along Hawaii Belt Road

Hawaii island police are investigating the theft of 47 fence posts from county property along Hawaii Belt Road.

The theft occurred sometime between 2 p.m. July 7 and 8:30 a.m. July 9. on the Paauilo side of the 35-mile marker, police said.

The T-rail posts, each 6.5 feet in length and silver in color, were pulled from the ground and removed from the property.

Police ask anyone with information about this case to call the Police Department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311 or officer Joseph Passmore at 775-7533. People who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide CrimeStoppers number at 961-8300.
