Fire engulfed a three-bedroom home in Poipu on Kauai early Tuesday, displacing a family of six.
The fire broke out at about 4:15 a.m. Firefighters arrived by 4:17 and had the blaze under control in minutes.
A woman living at the home suffered minor injuries. She was treated and released at the scene.
Fire inspectors deemed the home a “total loss.” Damage to the structure and contents was estimated at $300,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
