Furlough inmate sought on Hawaii island after failing to check in

A 23-year-old extended furlough inmate failed to check in Thursday morning in Kona, the Department of Public Safety said.

Race Bolner, classified as a community custody inmate, which is the lowest custody level, failed to return Thursday morning.

State sheriffs and Hawaii County police have been notified.

Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside the facility.

Bolner was serving time for theft, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card. His next parole hearing was scheduled for December.

He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds, with a shaved head and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees Bolner is asked to call 911.
