Prosecutors charged 3 suspects in connection with the death of a 65-year-old Whitmore Village man whose BMW was found burning near Makua on June 24.

Anjelita Rasa, 26, who has no local address, and Shane Rodrigues, 30, of Makaha, are charged with second-degree murder. They were being held on $1 million bail.

Shaun Branco-Taniguchi is charged with being an accomplice to murder and was being held on $500,000 bail.

The suspects are also facing arson and firearms charges in the death of William Aki Jr., whose body was found just after midnight on June 24 at his Kaniahe Street home.

Police went to the home while following up on a report of a car found burning in Makua. The registration on the BMW showed it belonged to Aki.

A fourth suspect, arrested on suspicion of hindering prosecution, was not charged.

Police arrested Rasa at the main police station early Thursday morning and arrested the other suspects in the afternoon in Makaha and Waianae.
