Norm Parrish, an assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Hawaii, could be named head coach at Westminster College in Utah as soon as this week.

Parrish, who was head coach at Salt Lake Community College for 20 years and served on the University of Utah staff, joined Eran Ganot’s UH staff in May.

"I really can’t comment on anything right now … maybe in a couple of days," Parrish said.

Westminster athletic director Shay Wyatt said in a text message, "our search process is still ongoing" and declined further comment.

The Griffins’ previous coach, Adam Hiatt, abruptly resigned earlier this month after going 73-48 over four seasons. The Griffins return eight players, including three starters, this season in transitioning to NCAA Division II.

Ganot did not immediately return calls.
