The fourth annual Tripler Fisher House Hero and Remembrance Run will be held Saturday at Ford Island and is free to the public.

The 8K event was created to raise awareness about Tripler Fisher House, which provides homes for service members and their families receiving treatment at Tripler Medical Center.

At this year’s event, thousands of boots will line the run/walk with names and photos of all service members who lost their lives in combat since Sept. 11, 2001.

Following the event, the boots will be displayed at Enterprise Street and O’Kane Boulevard on Ford Island until Sept. 12.

Free parking is available on Ford Island and the public is encouraged to arrive by 5 a.m. An opening ceremony will be at 6:30 a.m.

For any questions, call Anita Clingerman at 489-8261 or Theresa Johnson at (254) 702-3530 or visit Tripler Fisher House on www.eventbrite.com.
