A man who allegedly poured what looked like gasoline into a Waikiki apartment and threatened to set it on fire was charged with burglary and promoting a detrimental drug Monday.

Police said 35-year-old Tarik McMilllan, of Salt Lake, followed a 36-year-old man home from a bar Sunday, broke a window, pushed a gasoline container into the victim’s apartment and poured what appeared to be gasoline into the apartment at about 9:30 a.m.

Police said the suspect threatened to burn the place down.

Police arrested McMillan near an apartment building on Kalakaua Avenue at about 9:57 a.m.

Officers discovered narcotics on McMillan after his arrest, police said.

McMillian was being held on $30,000 bail.
