Hawaii island fire rescue personnel resumed their search Monday for a fisherman who was swept out to sea near Kaloli Point on Saturday.

On Monday, firefighters conducted extensive ground, air, shoreline and underwater searches but did not turn up any sign of the missing man.The search was suspended due to high surf conditions and nightfall.

Firefighters will resume the search on Tuesday morning.

The U.S. Coast Guard was involved in the initial search but suspended operations Sunday pending further developments.
