Emergency repairs on a switch at a Manoa substation were completed without any problems and power was restored to 3,200 restored at 1:30 a.m. today after a two-hour planned outage.
Troubleshooters uncovered the problem at the Woodlawn Substation on East Manoa Road following several outages this weekend, Hawaiian Electric said.
For the safety of work crews, power to the substation had to be shut down.
The power outage affected approximately 3,200 customers in the area between Lowrey Avenue and the back of Manoa Valley. Customers in the vicinity of Waioli Tea Room and Manoa Hillside Estates also were affected.
