Authorities Tuesday charged a 34-year-old Hauula man with threatening and cutting his girlfriend’s face during an argument last month.

Police initially arrested Jared Kinikini on suspicion of second-degree assault Sept. 27 after he grabbed a knife during an argument with his 31-year-old girlfriend and held it against her neck and face.

The charge was reduced to a second-degree terroristic threatening on Tuesday. Bail was set at $2,000.
