Caldwell in Washington for rail, homeless talks
Mayor Kirk Caldwell is in Washington, D.C. to meet with federal officials to discuss rail and homelessness issues.
Caldwell will return on Sunday.
While in Washington, D.C. the mayor will deliver a speech at the American Resort Development Association Fall Conference.
He is scheduled to meet with Federal Transit Administration Acting Administrator Therese McMillan and Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy Peter Rogoff to discuss Honolulu’s rail project and Full Funding Grant Agreement.
He is also meeting with officials from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to discuss Honolulu’s efforts to end Veteran Homelessness by the end of 2015.
