Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts announced today that one of its two hotels on Lanai will reopen on Feb. 1.

The 217-room Four Seasons Resort Lanai, previously known as the Manele Bay Hotel, is slated to reopen following a $75 million renovation that involves adding more suites, a new lagoon-style pool, a refreshed lobby and completely redone rooms.

The oceanfront hotel has been closed since June, and a prior projected reopening timetable in mid-December had been delayed.

The 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Manele Golf Course, which is currently open Wednesday through Sunday, will resume daily operation with the hotel’s reopening.

Nightly rates start at $950 for rooms with garden views and at $1,200 for rooms with ocean views.

Four Seasons, which previously had been putting prospective visitors on a wait list for travel between December and March 31, is offering a fourth night free to promote the reopening.

“Luxuriously re-imagined following a multi-million dollar transformation, Four Seasons Resort Lanai will offer guests a sophisticated, yet relaxed escape on their own 90,000-acre secluded Hawaiian island just nine miles from Maui,” Four Seasons said in the announcement.

Four Seasons manages the hotel for a company formed by Larry Ellison, the billionaire founder of software firm Oracle Corp. who bought 98 percent of Lanai in 2012 for a reported $300 million from fellow billionaire David Murdock.

The other major hotel on Lanai, the 102-room Lodge at Koele, has been closed since January along with its golf course. This hotel, in Lanai City, is being used to house construction workers, as many as 400 of whom have been needed daily on the oceanfront hotel renovation project. There is no timetable to reopen the Lodge.
