Body found at Kewalo Basin

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in Kewalo Basin just after 7 this morning.

Surfers turned the woman over to fire rescue personnel at the Koko Head side of Kewalo Basin near the former site of the University of Hawaii dolphin research facility.

The woman was believed to be in her late 20s.

The case is being handled by the medical examiner’s office for identification and cause of death. So far, the case has been classified as an unattended death.
