California man allegedly assaults cab driver near airport

Honolulu police arrested a 23-year-old California man who allegedly assaulted a taxicab driver early this morning.

According to police, the man struck the 55-year-old male driver as they were traveling east along the H-1 freeway near the airport offramp.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of interference with the operation of a public transportation vehicle.
