LAST UPDATED: 01:47 a.m. HST, Apr 30, 2013

A 36-year-old Haleiwa woman turned herself into police after she allegedly killed her pet dog for misbehaving.

Police said the suspect said she was upset with the dog’s behavior and was trying to discipline the animal when it died.

The incident occurred at the suspect’s home at 6 p.m. Sunday. She remains in custody.

After she surrendered to police, she was arrested on suspicion of cruelty to animals.

The Humane Society will perform the necropsy of the animal Monday to determine cause of death.

A spokeswoman for the Humane Society declined to say what the suspect used to try to discipline the dog, or disclose the sex and breed of the animal.

Beating a dog for your own failures as an owner is absolutely pathetic.
However she is better than most other scumbag abusers --- having the conscience to turn herself in.
People are too ignorant to realize that a dog's behavior is directly a response/reflection of the owner, and has nothing to do with the poor pet.

That's a very general statement. I have seen dogs that were just un-trainable and dangerous to adults and children from the day they were born. I am not excusing this lady's behavior but only commenting on dogs in general. It is not always a reflection on an owner.

How do you suppose that a dog would/could get to such a state of being un-trainable. I suggest it was the actions or inaction of the owner from the beginning.

Did you read the same article as I did? WHERE does it say she beat her dog? Even the Humane Society doesn't know how the dog died: "The Humane Society will perform the necropsy of the animal today to determine cause of death". You seem to know alot....alotta nothing.

How do you think the dog died. from being petted? I suppose she could have shot it but that doesn't fall in line with trying to discipline.

Well she sure as heck killed it. She has a least one child from tv news. So how does that work for obedience training?

But at least she had the conscience to turn herself in, which is a thousand times better than other dirtbag abusers who could care less. Including those who abandon their pets.

This is the same as parents who beat their children due to their failures as parents. Worthless pet owners, worthless parents, it's all the same thing.

There is a wonderful post on the Oahu forum of Trip Advisor by a woman that spent her Hawaii vacation money on her ailing dog. There is also a link to the youtube video called "Our Pug's New Life." The Haleiwa murderer should have to watch the video over and over again. And I hope she is never allowed to own another animal and her name should be published so she can be shunned.

At least she turned her self in. She should never own another pet and certainly never have children. She obviously has anger management issues.
