SAN JOSE, Costa Rica » President Barack Obama says he won't comment on an Israeli airstrike against Syria that targeted a shipment of advanced missiles believed to be headed for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

Israeli officials on Saturday confirmed the strike, which took place early Friday.

Obama told the Spanish-language network Telemundo in an interview that he will defer to the Israeli government for comment. He also repeated his view that the Israelis justifiably have to guard against the transfer of advanced weapons to organizations like Hezbollah. The U.S. considers Hezbollah a terrorist organization.

Obama conducted the interview on Saturday, and a portion of the president's answer to a question about the airstrike was broadcast on MSNBC.

Obama can't comment now. That's because, Syria and Hezbollah are allies, and Syria and the al-Qaeda rebels are enemies. Making Israel an ally with al-Qaeda.

the real reason why assad of Syria was planning to send rockets to the hezbollah was to try to get Israel in a war with Syria that way if Israel gets into a war with Syria all the muslem rebels that are trying to overthrow assad would join forces with assad to kill the Israelis because it dos'nt matter if the muslims hate each other they despise Israel and sees them as there enemy. that's the whole purpose of trying to start a war with Israel.

It helps al-Qaeda. Then al-Qaeda takes over Syria, making secular Syria into a fundamentalist Islamic state.

no it won't because al Qaeda will fight alongside with Syria to try to eliminate Israel and they also will get killed by the israelies. al Qaeda hates isreal more than Syria so they won't take over Syria.

Many posters in the recent past would have said the US should bring home all its troops, solidify our boarders and take care of the Americans people who are in dire straights. Tragically, recent events (i.e. Boston Marathon bombing) and ever on-going events (i.e. increase in military suicides and those of middle aged people, juvenile crime and mass shootings) indicate it may be too late.
