Punchbowl man arrested for allegedly assaulting friend

A 54-year-old Punchbowl man is in custody after he allegedly assaulted a friend during an argument at a Moiliili park Sunday afternoon.

Police said the two men began arguing at 4:30 p.m., which escalated when the suspect struck his 29-year-old friend. The victim was treated for minor injuries.

When the suspect was at the main police station he was found carrying illegal drugs.

The suspect is now facing second-degree assault and a drug charge.
