LAST UPDATED: 11:53 a.m. HST, Jun 19, 2013

A 25-year-old man allegedly tried to attack a police officer while in custody early this morning.

Police said the suspect was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and was in the back seat of a police cruiser in the Ala Moana area. While being questioned by police, the suspect kicked a window. The shattering glass hit the officer, who had to be treated for minor injuries.

Besides the disorderly conduct charge, the suspect also now faces a criminal property damage charge.

Hmmm... what about charges for injuring the officer? Or is criminal property damage a more important charge than charges for the injuries the officer received from this idiot?
