One of the two men arrested following a stabbing in Kapiolani Park late Friday night has been charged with attempted murder.

Beau Bassett, 18, was charged with attempted murder with bail set at $100,000, police said. He made his initial appearance in District Court this morning.

Paramedics took the 53-year-old to the hospital in serious condition with multiple stab wounds, Emergency Medical Services reported.

The other suspect was released pending investigation.

A witness said after the victim was stabbed multiple times, the two suspects started running away across Kapiolani Park. The witness followed the two suspects on foot, police said.

The incident happened just before midnight Friday on Kalakaua Avenue near Kapiolani Park.

The suspects were arrested on Monsarrat Avenue.
