Firefighters investigate cause of Makawao brush fire

Maui fire investigators are trying to determine the origin of any early Thursday morning brush fire that destroyed a small portion of a heavily wooded forest near Olinda Road in Makawao.

The fire, which was reported at 1:36 a.m., destroyed 6,000 square foot of forest. It was contained at 3:40 a.m.

No was injured. No property damage was reported.
