Man arrested for alleged assault on police officer in Waianae

A 21-year-old Kapolei man is in custody after he allegedly assaulted a police officer Sunday night who was investigating a report of a family fight.

Police said the incident occurred in Waianae just before 7 p.m. when a police officer was attempting to arrest the suspect suspected of assaulting two family members. During the arrest the suspect injured the police officer, the police report said.

The suspect was arrested for assault, abuse and resisting arrest.
