Pedestrian seriously injured after struck by garbage truck in Waikiki

Paramedics took a 21-year-old man to the hospital in serious condition this morning after he was struck by a garbage truck.

The accident occurred at about 5:32 a.m. at the intersection of Kuhio Avenue and Ohua Street, according to Emergency Medical Services.

That is 2 ped-garbage truck incidents within 1 month. Need to get the opala off the streets just a little more safely. I swear those garbage trucks could take a little more time when moving from dumpster to dumpster.
