Yemen claims it foiled al-Qaida plot

SANAA, Yemen » A Yemeni government spokesman claims authorities have foiled a plot by al-Qaida militants aimed at taking control of two cities in the country, then storming strategic ports and bombing gas facilities.

Rageh Badi said today that the terror network planned to target the southern cities of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramawt province, and Bawzeer, then send its members disguised in military uniform to attack two strategic oil ports.

He says other al-Qaida militants, meanwhile, would try to sabotage pipelines to "create panic among Yemeni army and Yemeni security services."

The remarks come as the country is on heightened alert over fears of an al-Qaida threat that led the U.S. and Britain to evacuate their embassies in the capital, Sanaa.

Al Qaida is desperate to own a country of their own to use as a foundation to restore the caliphate. Or, they could give it up and join the 21st century. Jihad is a little over the top. All old moves from the insurrection playbook by Al Qaida and one has to go back and study the whole conflict starting with the prophet's time to get it. As the middle east self destructs, as it has been doing for centuries, India and Japan rises in preparation for the real World War Three, in which the middle East, from Syria to Pakistan, plays second fiddle again. Let Iran and Pakistan have nukes - we have more of them and Communism is DEAD. News Flash to Hawaii: Marxism is dead, with its "strict rules"......

India and Japan? Huh? I'm a bit confused where you got that idea. If anybody's going to war with Japan it's China. I don't think that's very realistic, but they've been bickering about the Senkaku Islands for quite some time. Pakistan has a nuclear arsenal and is ready to go to war with India at any time, India is well equipped with nuclear weapons as well. Regardless, if any other country launches a nuclear weapon it's not in the United State's best interest to retaliate by dropping any of our nuclear bombs since we've been preaching nuclear disarmament since the end of the cold war, a bit hypocritical if you ask me. I've always wondered how many active silos are in Hawaii.... any guesses?

Saved, How so? Something to hide? How pediatric and naive of you. While they are "Protecting" us from a supposed threat, who is protecting us from them? I am more scared of what our government can do to us rather than some religious nutcase worshiping another fake being and willing to blow himself up because of it. You're obviously not scared of anything, post your real name and address, you don't have nothing to hide right?

How do you know that? The article says nothing about phone taps or the absence of phone taps.

Right! YEMEN prevented an al Qaida strike. Is this the same Yemen that also houses one of the largest population of terrorists? Can I have more drone strikes please?
