Waianae man allegedly assaults police officer after traffic stop

A routine stop for a traffic violation Wednesday afternoon ended with a 31-year-old Waianae man in handcuffs.

The man allegedly damaged police department equipment and allegedly assaulted a police officer.

He was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a law enforcement officer, but was released pending investigation at 8:50 p.m.
