Maui police have identified the 41-year-old California visitor who apparently drowned while snorkeling Wednesday near Kaanapali as Son Vo.

Police said an investigation revealed that there were no signs of criminal activity surrounding Vo’s death

Vo, of Oakland, went snorkeling in the ocean at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday fronting the Kaanapali Villa and failed to return.

His body was found Thursday morning by the Maui Fire Department’s helicopter.
