Police nab alleged thief caught in act on Kapiolani Boulevard

A 42-year-old man is in custody after allegedly attacking police officers trying to stop him from stealing from a business on Kapiolani Boulevard.

Police officers were called to the business at 12:20 a.m. Thursday.

When officers approached the suspect, he allegedly tried to attack the officers. 

The suspect fled the scene, but was caught a short time later. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft, resisting arrest, harassing police officers and a warrant.
