The incident was reported at 10:30 p.m.

The 22-year-old victim told police he saw a car pull into the parking lot. Three men got out the vehicle. One of the suspects then allegedly hit the victim several times while the two other men acted as lookouts. After allegedly taking personal items from the 22-year-old man, the trio fled.

Maybe you can mention WHAT parking lot so if someone who might also have been in that "unknown" parking lot might possibly have seen something going on??

The SA staff probably received this incident report over the phone by a friendly insider at HPD. Compared to other crimes/criminal activity, this one doesn't justify a reporter actually going to the scene or interviewing the victim. Yes, it would be nice or helpful to know the parking lot location.

I totally agree and I am tired of these two paragraph articles being more like gossip than actual reporting. Get some facts or it is just gossip!
