Truck hits man in crosswalk on Kauai

A 41-year-old Kauai man is in stable condition after being hit by a truck while in a crosswalk Wednesday night in Lihue.

The pedestrian was crossing Rice Street in a marked crosswalk near the Chevron gas station at around 7 p.m. when he was hit by a Toyota Tacoma heading west, according to police.

The victim is hospitalized at Wilcox Hospital. The 45-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
