LAST UPDATED: 10:43 a.m. HST, Oct 29, 2013

Police are holding a 27-year-old Waipahu man for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl over an 11-year period starting when the victim was 6 years old, according to arrest records.

The suspect was arrested at his home Monday morning on suspicion of three counts of first-degree sexual assault. No charges have been filed.

Police would only say that the victim, who is now 19, knows the suspect.

The alleged attacks began in 2000 when the suspect was 14 years old and continued until 2011, police said.

The math does not add up. 27 year old raped the 6 year old for 11 years, yet the article indicate he started assaulting her since the suspect was 14 years old.( 14 11 = 25) Also the victim is currently 19 and the assaults began when she was 6 years old. (6 11 = 17)

Huh? Waipahu = "Westside"? FYI...Waipahu is Waipahu; "West side" generally refers to Kapolei and beyond. I think your comments are unsubstantiated and uneducated, and THAT'S scary!

Scarier on Spirit Lake Indian Reservation in North Dakota, where foster children are raped, molested, tortured and killed by their foster parents. Now THAT's scary, all lie. That's where you're from, and you worried about Waipahu? Really?

the years reported make absolutely no sense... was she 6 or 11 when it all started? these stupid typos make readers more interested in the misinformation rather than the cause for concern over the case of rape.
