2 Hilo men on hook for theft, drug charges after boat burglary

Two Hilo men were have been charged with burglary, theft and drug offenses after they were caught Friday after reports that at boat at the Wailoa Small Boat Harbor had been burglarized.

Milton Ahnee, 47, was charged with burglary and theft. His bail was set at $20,000. Dennis Poai, 36, was charged with burglary, theft, promoting a dangerous drug, possessing drug paraphernalia and four firearms offenses. His bail was set at $121,000. 

Hilo police said their truck was recovered just after midnight Friday with eight fishing poles and reels taken from the boat in the truck's bed.

Besides the stolen fishing poles, detectives found 0.9 grams of a crystalline substance, paraphernalia associated with the use of crystal methamphetamine, a rifle and ammunition in the bed of the truck.
