Volunteers this morning collected close to 1,000 box jellyfish from Oahu's south shore beaches.
Although there have only been a few stings reported so far, lifeguards have posted jellyfish warning signs on beaches along Waikiki and at Ala Moana, according to an Ocean Safety spokesperson.
A dozen box jellyfish were also collected from Leeward Coast beaches.
