Waimanalo man suspected of breaking into home, assaulting man

Police nabbed a suspected burglar Thursday evening after he allegedly entered a Waimanalo home early Monday morning and assaulted a man in his room, according to police documents.

A 53-year-old Waimanalo man is suspected of violently burglarizing the home around 1:30 a.m., police said. A 20-year-old man and 25-year-old man reported the crime.

Police arrested the suspect at his home around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of first-degree burglary. The alleged offense was later reclassified to third-degree assault, according to police records.
