How is it a "lock" that he's an Obama voter? Or a voter at all, for that matter. Your prejudice is showing. You can't blame the President of the U.S. for every dimwit out there.

I rather have people who practice a tradition that's been in Hawaii for DECADES (setting off fireworks) around over these bitter and heartless "people" such as Poipounder808 and nitpikker who apparently walk on clouds singing the hymns of Jesus himself! And this "lokela" has never served in the military or been to Iraq or Afghanistan, yet giving advice on why people should join the military.Ridiculous. SteveToo had a great time in Waianae, but Central Oahu (Mililani, Waipio, Waipahu, and even all the way down to Ewa) put on a great 12 o'clock midnight show to ring in the New Year! I thought fireworks were going to be scarce last night, but it was great to see that a lot of people in Hawaii still carry on the tradition.

Every year we get this -- last year a young man was even more seriously injured. His family now says they hope this will raise awareness of the dangers -- sorry, folks, but MOST people already know it's crazy to mess with this stuff !

It's the AINOKEA attitude. Just like people that drink and drive. This guy lost a pinkie and might lose his thumb. Lucky didn't explode in his face. Years ago a friend from the Big Island lost an eye when he was in the 7th grade because he was standing too close to an aerial. I bet next year this guy not going touch illegal fireworks.
